Dear diary,
The holy man's directions proved accurate. 1/2 an hour's walk brought us to a ravine which we crossed and in 3 minutes time we found the shrub. I found it strange that there isn't a single tree there that I know and it was damp.Quite unlike the places we've passed through. As usual, when I voiced out my thoughts to Tulsi,he just shrugged it off, saying that it was nothing strange.Just as Tulsi put his bag down on the ground,I saw something unusal and asked Tulsi what was that. I thought it was a piece of egg-shaped rock but upon getting closer to it, I realised it was a genuine egg.It was yellow ,with brown strips flecked with blue. The egg chose this very moment to hatch and I jumped back at the cracking sound. I picked up my courage and stepped a few steps forward. It was a bird, about the size of a hen. I am quite fond of birds and even kept mynah and a bulbul as a pet. Never had I seen such a huge bird with a large beak and long legs at birth. I turned and started walking to the waiting taxi. A patter of feet made me stop and turn around. To my surprise, the chick was following us! It Then it padded across, stopped in front of Tulsi and gripped his dhoti. He picked up the chick before shoving it into his bag.I questioned his decision. He merely replied me that he wanted a pet.

Third entry
Dear diary,
We reached the cave of the holy man Dhumai Babu after walking through the forest for a mile or so then climbing up about 500 feet. The cave was large, but no sunlight reached it, it only took as 10 steps to be engulfed by the darkness. While I was busy watched the profusion of stalactites and stalagmites by the light of my torch. Tulsi inquired after his herbal medicine. After Tulsi noted down the directions Baba gave him,we left the cave.

Second entry
Dear diary,
Today I went to Jagdalpur with Tulsi Babu. We checked into a hotel there. On the way in the Mandras Mail, two foreign youngsters got into our compartments. They turned out to be Swedes. One of them was so tall, his head nearly touched the ceiling! When I asked him how tall was he, he replied that he was 2 metres and 7 cm. Which is nearly 7 feet! I couldn't take my eyes away from the young man and yet Tulsi was not surprised. He just said that such extraordinary height was simply the result of their diet and therefore nothing for him to be surprised of. Sometimes, I just cannot believe him!

First entry
Dear diary,
It feels like nothing seems to surprise my dear friend, Tulsi Babu except for the excellence of the mutton kebab at Mansur's. I wish that I could find something else that surprises him.
